The Great American Foreclosure Song -- ProPublica

ProPublica is an independent, nonprofit newsroom that produces investigative journalism with an eye on abuses of power and betrayals of public trust. I’m a huge fan and contributor.

In 2012, ProPublica produced “The Great American Foreclosure Song,” written and performed by Andrew Bean and David Holmes. The chorus goes like this:

Bailout after bailout
Kept the banks intact
But what about homeowners?
Who’s got their backs?

You can argue with the banks
And hope for the best
But you’re relying on the ones
Who got us into this mess
